Kanye at the Grammys
OK. I picked poorly. Watch this show instead of reading my poor picks:
It's been 5 whole days and I just haven't heard the proper amount of web buzz for this performance. Perhaps I am biased because I am an alumni of Florida A&M University (represent) and the performance of K. West and J. Foxx makes me feel nostalgic, but I was really feeling this show. So what, Kanye couldn't breathe through the whole performance. He just needs to go home and pop in the Kanye West Workout Plan and get busy for 20 minutes, 2 to 3 times a week. That will fix him right up! However, someone should have told them boys, do not attempt to wear purple tuxedos with no shirt and white driving gloves at home. Even more, do not attempt to wear only one glove at a time unless you are trying to channel the spirit of Michael Jackson. Noneless, enjoy the show.
The 2006 Grammy awards are upon us, and like most other opinionated music lovers, I have predictions of which artists will win. I also have an opinion of which artists should win. These artists often are not the same. In fact, there are even a few nominees that I felt should not have been nominated at all. Well, with out further ado, I present my 2006 Grammy Award winners…

In the end, I expect there to be a fair distribution of the awards, with no one artist running away with the bulk of the awards. I suspect Mariah Carey to win most of the R&B Vocal categories she was nominated in except for a few in which Gwen Stephani will receive the award. I expect both 50 cent and Kanye West to be disappointed, but they will not go home empty handed. I wonder if there will be strife if 50 cent and The Game win the “Best Rap Song” category. I hope they don’t bring their “beef” to the stage. I also hope that Kanye West does not try to take all of the credit if Common actually recives an award. I also secretly hope Missy Elliott goes home with some hardware, while the Black-Eyed Peas don’t... Hate it or love it, my predictions on top!
Narrated by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Charlie LeDuff of the New York Times, "The Real 8 Mile" shows LeDuff going back to his hometown to give viewers a comprehensive look at the variety of lifestyles and races involved in the Detroit hip-hop community.
This looks like a hip- hop documentary worth checking out. It airs on the dicovery times channel starting on February 9.
