Bus Stop...

Okay, It is like this… I haven’t worked on a song in a while, so when I got the urge to do one yesterday, I just got up and did it. Since these moments don’t happen very often, Imma share with you the fruits of my labors:

Obsession March06

It is official.
I am obsessed with the following:
T-mobile MDA

The T-Mobile MDA is my brand new phone that I am sporting with a Motorola HS820 Bluetooth headset. The phone is a pocket PC, running off Windows Mobile 5.0 and has a Microsoft Office suite and a .pdf viewer. It has a 1.3-mega-pixel camera as well as video as well as a host of messaging and email options. The phone is way hotter than any device I have ever seen. The only drawback is its lack of ability to handle java applications and availability of free games for download seems slim.

Acer Ferrari 4006

I have been obsessing over this particular line of laptops since 2004 and have yet to pony up for one. I still don’t have a laptop yet and I probably will opt for opt for the dual processor Acers that are available with just as much muscle, a little less shine and price. Boy this joint sure is pretty though. I am really impressed with the SoundBlaster compatible sound cards that I like to use sound fonts and Cakewalk Sonar with….

Shearling Sheepskin Coat

I bought a sheepskin coat when I first got back from Iraq. I never wore it. I tore it. I replaced it with another. I still haven’t worn it. It is now Spring. I still obsess. That coat sure is pretty!

Banana Republic Boxer shorts

The boxers are the most comfortable thing that I have ever put on my ass! They are made with a practical cotton with a luxurious thread count. They also make me look good when I get undressed. Who can ask for anything more?

Lost

It was a science fiction show that transferred to a soap opera and I haven’t been able to miss an episode since I was loaned the complete first season boxset from a coworker. Now we have a Lost watching society where we share the downloaded episodes and review plots, theories, and rumors. I feel like a teenage girl. This is obsession at its finest….
NEC/ Ridata

I have a NEC DVD burner that is awesome! I pair it with these really inexpensive Ridata DVDs and I get awesome results. I cannot see how anyone would pay more for something so inexpensive and sweet as this combo…

The Fountainhead- Ayn Rand

By far one of the best books that I have read… There is no way this book is written in 1943. I am only a little over half through but I love this philosophy veiled with a novel. Dominique Francon (maiden) can so get it; yes, she makes me horny…

Yahoo mobile messenger

This is way cooler than making a phone call and cheaper than sharing text messages. Yahoo on an Internet enabled cellular phone is just awesome, especially if you already yahoo like I do.

No music has made the list. It is time to create the revolution as I see fit.
I now have a new web address; http://blackcaesar.net . I have some personal storage space to go along with my newfound zest for life. I will create. You will see. I will share. Obsession complete.

It is still hard.

Congratulations to Three 6 mafia.
To the haters: if you can do better, than do it. The oscars have been snubbing black folks for years. I am glad that there weresome blacks represented this time around. More power to Three 6 Mafia and thier artistic vision. I could have been much different...

James Baskett once sang:
Quote:

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my, what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's actual
Ev'rything is satisfactual
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day, yes sir!

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my, what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's actual
Ev'rything is satisfactual
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, feeling this way

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder
It is the truth, it's actual... huh?
Where is that bluebird? Mm-hm!
Ev'rything is satisfactual
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

Baskett was the actor that played "Uncle Remus" in the 1947 Walt Disney movie entitled "Song of the South". In case you have never seen the movie (I bet most haven't) the plot is as follows:

Quote:

The setting is the Southern United States, in a 'dream time' shortly after the American Civil War, which folklorist Patricia A. Turner characterizes as happening.... during a surreal time when blacks lived on quarters on a plantation, worked diligently for no visible reward and considered Atlanta a viable place for an old black man to set out for....Blacks are shown as subservient to whites, and singing contentedly about 'home'. The framing story has therefore been accused of idealizing the harsh lives of blacks on rural southern plantations in the Jim Crow era.

One would think that there could have been a better socio-political song coming from a black man in these times. The establishment only allowed the world to be seen through their eyes.

huh.

James Baskett, the leading black actor in the film, was reportedly unable to attend the premiere in Atlanta, Georgia as no hotel within reach of the theater would rent him a room.

I am glad that triple 6 was able to celebrate, speak their mind, and represent the world from their perspective. I find that to be an improvement to some mother [Censored] Zip-a-dee-doo-dah bull [Censored].

Oops. don't speak your mind... Others might see things from your perspective.

Better yet, lets see what you got. Instead of pointing the finger, write your song. I'll suggest the title. How about, "I'ts hard out here (period). It is, isn't it? It's hard to say congratulations to some brothers that got rewarded for their hard work and dedication. It's hard for you to beat them at their own act. Helll, it's hard being black period, especially when other blacks criticize you for both failing and succeeding. What's a (insert proper noun here) to do?

Oh, I forgot to mention, Baskett won the same award as triple 6 mafia did. What do you think his acceptance speech was like? How well do you think his performance went? Do you think he wore a tuxedo? How about new shoes? I am sure he wasn't even allowed to attend... I was Hard back then too...
